10 Highest Earners in the Premier League for the 2024/25 Season

Football is hands down the most popular sport across the globe, with around 3.5 billion fans tuning in to catch the action. With such massive popularity, it’s no wonder football is also one of the most lucrative industries worldwide. In recent years, the sport has seen record-breaking financial investments, making footballers among the world’s highest-paid professionals.

The Premier League, in particular, draws a lot of attention as the world’s most-watched and followed football league. Thanks to this appeal, Premier League clubs roll out staggering contract offers to secure the game’s biggest names. It’s no secret that attracting top-tier players and managers comes at a high price. With Premier League teams consistently spending over a billion euros each transfer window, the demand for star players is pushing wages ever higher. This naturally got us curious: who are the highest-paid stars in the Premier League today? So, let’s dive in and take a look at the top 10 highest earners in the league.

1) Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City) – £400,000 per week

Arguably the best midfielder Premier League fans have ever witnessed, Kevin De Bruyne is worth every penny of the 400,000 pounds Manchester City pay him each week. The 31-year-old Belgian has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest players in Manchester City history after clinching six Premier League titles, while scoring 103 goals and providing 171 assists.

Besides the goals and assists, De Bruyne has been instrumental during Manchester City’s reign of dominance under Pep Guardiola. He has been the creative hub of Pep’s all-conquering City side, who have won six Premier League titles, 2 FA Cups, 4 Carabao Cups, a Club World Cup and a Champions League since 2017. Questions arose when City shelled out a then-club record fee for the Belgian, but he has silenced those critics in spectacular fashion. Now, into his 9th season with the Cityzens, De Bruyne is still going strong. He even became City’s captain after Ilkay Gundogan departed the club last season.

2) Erling Haaland (Manchester City) – £375,000 per week

Unlike De Bruyne, Erling Haaland came into the Premier League as one of the most sought-after strikers in the world. As a result, the Cityzens had to shell out £375,000 per week to acquire the towering Norwegian. He was the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle that Pep Guardiola was trying to solve in his quest to bring Champions League glory to the Etihad Stadium.

Like a duck to water, Haaland took to Premier League football with incredible ease. The then 22-year-old instantly became a fan favorite at Etihad with his prodigious goalscoring abilities. Erling Haaland made an explosive impact in his first season with Manchester City during the 2022/23 campaign, shattering the Premier League record for the most goals in a single season by netting 36 times in the 2022/23 season. Despite slowing down in his second season with the Sky Blues, Haaland still managed to pick his second consecutive Prem golden boot award after scoring 26 goals during the 2023/24 season.

3) Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – £350,000 per week

Mohamed Salah is reportedly earning a staggering £350,000 per week, and you can bet Liverpool would be in a tight spot if they hadn’t convinced him to stay put in the summer of 2022. The incredibly gifted right-winger has been nothing short of a superstar for the Reds, leading the charge to multiple trophies, including a Champions League title, a Premier League crown, an FA Cup, two League Cups, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup during his time at Anfield.

Last season might not have been Liverpool’s finest moment, especially with Jürgen Klopp parting ways, but Salah continued to shine, racking up impressive goals and assists. And it looks like he’s picking up right where he left off in the 2024/25 season, proving once again just how vital he is to the team's success.

4) Casemiro (Manchester United) – £350,000 per week

Probably the first player on this list who is not entirely deserving of his humungous paycheck. Don’t get me wrong – Casemiro is one of the greatest defensive midfielders of his generation, but he’s well past his prime. Moreover, United are actively looking to ship the Brazilian on in order to get his massive wages off their books. Despite this, Casemiro has stayed professional.

Although his second season didn’t pan out as expected, Casemiro was worth every penny during his first season at Old Trafford. He was the lynchpin of a United side which went on to clinch a Champions League spot, and more importantly, the FA Cup during the 2022/23 season. However, age catches up to everybody, and it certainly has with Casemiro.

5) Marcus Rashford (Manchester United) – £300,000 per week

Marcus Rashford, the local lad from Wythenshawe, signed a new contract in the summer of 2023, despite some chatter about his future. Coming off a stellar 30-goal season in 2022/23—his best ever in a Manchester United shirt—expectations were high. Unfortunately, the 2024/25 season hasn’t gone quite as smoothly, and he’s struggled to find the back of the net like he used to.

Critics, including the legendary Paul Scholes, have called him out for his lackluster performances, but let’s not forget that Rashford has the talent and skill to change a game in an instant. It’s just a matter of regaining that confidence and getting back to his best.

6) Jack Grealish (Manchester City) – £300,000 per week

Just a couple of seasons ago, Jack Grealish was the hottest property in English football. The Birmingham-born winger had just put in some standout performances for his boyhood club, Aston Villa. But when Pep Guardiola comes calling, it’s tough to turn down the opportunity. In the summer of 2021, Manchester City activated Grealish’s staggering £100 million release clause, and with that high-profile move came a hefty pay rise to £300,000 per week.

However, the big question is: does his performance justify such a massive wage? In his time at City, Grealish has racked up 14 goals and 19 assists in 135 appearances. Interestingly, he has received more yellow cards than goals! He’s undoubtedly a talented winger, but you’d expect a bit more return on that investment, right?

7) Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) – £300,000 per week

Since arriving in England in 2020, the Portuguese sensation has truly made his mark with the Red Devils. Recently, he was rewarded with a lucrative new contract that boosted his weekly salary by over £100,000, bringing him to a hefty £300,000 per week, and he’s now locked in at Old Trafford until June 2027.

Fernandes may be one of the club's highest earners, but it’s well-deserved. If Manchester United have any hopes of breaking back into the top four and securing a spot in the Champions League this season, Fernandes will be instrumental in that pursuit. He’s already proven to be the creator of the most clear-cut opportunities in the Premier League for the 2023/24 season, making him a vital asset for United.

8) Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) – £300,000 per week

Bernardo Silva has been a pivotal figure for Manchester City since joining the club in 2017, significantly shaping Pep Guardiola’s tactical approach. Renowned for his versatility, Silva seamlessly operates in multiple roles—be it as a winger, attacking midfielder, or even as a deeper playmaker. His ability to press high and recover possession allows City to maintain their relentless attacking style, while his technical skills enable him to navigate tight spaces, creating goal-scoring opportunities.

As a result, he’s the most expensive 29-year-old in football, earning a cool £300,000 per week. Similar to David Silva, the Portuguese magician plays a crucial role in keeping Manchester City's star-studded lineup cohesive. Links to Barcelona last summer threatened to rob the Premier League of one of its most technical players. However, Bernardo Silva remains an instrument part of City’s squad.

9) Kai Havertz (Arsenal) – £280,000 per week

As Arsenal’s highest-paid player, the former Chelsea striker had a bit of a rocky start after making the cross-London move. However, he’s gradually finding his footing in the iconic red jersey of the north London club. Earning £280,000 a week, he made headlines in 2021 by scoring the only goal in the Champions League final, helping his team secure a win against a determined Manchester City side managed by Guardiola.

Having been the sole striker during his time at Chelsea, he faced challenges in his development, but now the Germany international is becoming a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s plans. As Arsenal heads into a third consecutive season where they aim to reclaim the Premier League title, it’s clear that only the Cityzens are likely to stand in their way. With his experience on the big stage, he’s poised to play a crucial role in their title quest.

10) Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal) – £265,000 per week

Gabriel Jesus arrived in London with plenty of expectations, but he has yet to fully live up to the hype. His transfer from Manchester City to Arsenal was meant to add a clinical edge to the Gunners' attack, but it has only brought more attention to his struggles in front of goal. Known for his energy and work rate, Jesus’ stint with the Gunners has been plagued by multiple injuries, which has become a growing concern for Mikel Arteta and his staff.

Since joining Arsenal, the Brazilian striker has managed just 19 goals in 69 appearances—a modest return for a player of his caliber. His stats with Brazil’s national team, where he has scored 19 times in 64 games, show glimpses of his ability, but consistency remains elusive. However, as Arsenal fights for their first Premier League title since the legendary 2003/04 season, Jesus is determined to step up and be the difference-maker, embracing his role as the one to lead Arsenal’s title charge.
