In the current season of the Indian Premier League, Virat Kohli is leading the scoreboard for most runs in the season (orange cap). Virat has played 15 matches till now and scored 741 runs with the highest of 113* against Rajasthan Royals.
Virat has scored consistently with an average and strike rate of 61.75 and 154.69 respectively. Though RCB has been eliminated from the IPL 2024, Virat Kohli’s score and Ruturaj’s second-best score have a margin of 158 runs. It will be surprising to see if anybody can surpass the record.
Shubman Gill was the orange cap winner of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League. Playing in 17 matches, Gill scored 890 runs with an average and strike rate of 59.33 and 157.80 respectively. Shubman Gill scored his highest 129 runs against Mumbai Indians.
Jos Butler was the orange cap winner of the 15th season of the Indian Premier League. Playing in 17 matches, Jos scored 863 runs with an average and strike rate of 57.53 and 149.05 respectively. Jos Butler scored his highest 116 runs against Delhi Capitals.
Ruturaj Gaikwad played an eminent role in letting Chennai Super Kings win the title. Ruturaj Gaikwad was the orange cap winner of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League.
Playing in 16 matches, Ruturaj scored 635 runs with an average and strike rate of 45.35 and 136.26 respectively. The Chennai opener scored his highest 101* against Rajasthan Royals.
2020 was a tense year, the pandemic disrupted everything, even IPL. Originally, the tournament was supposed to start on 29th March but was suspended due to COVID-19 Pandemic. After the Indian Government announced the lockdown in April month, BCCI suspended the League. A few months later, Dubai turned out to be the perfect spot for concluding the League.

KL Rahul was the orange cap winner of the 2020 season. Playing in 14 matches, KL Rahul scored 670 runs with an average and strike rate of 55.83 and 129.34 respectively for the Punjab Kings.
