Sydney Sixers grabbed the victory in the 28th match of the Big Bash T20 League. The team won the match by (7) wickets.
Sydney Sixers won the toss and decided to field first. Melbourne Stars hit (156) runs with loss of (4) wickets. The Sixers had to chase the target of (157) runs. The team did exceptionally well and finished the game in the (19th) over.
Even though the pitch was favorable for the batsmen the Stars batters couldn’t score a high target. Lawrence, Stoinis, and Maxwell scored to improve the runs. Three of them scored, (36), (34), and (31) respectively.
The bowling side failed, they could not restrict Sixers batters from scoring. Scott managed to take (2) wickets, giving away (38) runs.
The overall performance of the team was great, the reason why they managed to win. The player of the match, James Vince, scored impressive (79) runs in (57) deliveries, whereas, Daniel Hughes did his part by scoring (41) runs in (32) balls.
Bowlers were ruthless, stopped runs, and took wickets. Curran, Dwarshuis, and Murphy took (1), (1), and (2) wickets respectively.
It was anticipated that Melbourne Stars would enjoy the home ground, but it turned out to be the opposite. Sydney Sixers won the match at Melbourne Cricket Ground.
With this win, Sydney Sixers climbed up the ladder, from (3rd) position, the team now advances to the (2nd), Perth Scorchers had to drop a rank low. While the story for Melbourne Strikers is the same, the team stands at (4th) position with no changes.
