Scotland's squad for the T20 World Cup includes some of the best talent of the country, making a comeback!
One interesting thing about the Scotland squad for the T20 World Cup is the participation of Michael Jones, and pacer, Brad Wheal. To perform well at the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup, Scotland has formed a squad that includes some of the best players.
Michael Jones and Brad Wheal have made their mark in the ICC Men’s World Cup 2022 and are an essential part of the squad for the T20 World Cup, but they won’t play the T20I Tri-Series in the Netherlands.
Richie Berrington is leading the team as a captain. In the year 2022, Scotland performed well under his leadership. Remember, Scotland’s exceptional win against West Indies.
Head coach, Doug Watson has something to say-
“To have Michael Jones and Brad Wheal available, their experience from previous T20 World Cups is crucial for the group,"
"I’m looking forward to meeting them both, getting to know them and seeing their skills up close. The bulk of the squad has been together for a while now and did a fantastic job last summer at both the 50-over Qualifier and the T20 Qualifier.
"It’s nice to have a bit of continuity along the way, although they haven’t played a lot of cricket since. Hopefully, we can see the same level from these players, if not higher, when we get to the Caribbean."
Scotland is playing their first match against England at the Kensington Oval on 4th June.
Here’s the complete Scotland squad for the T20 World Cup: Richie Berrington (c), Matthew Cross, Brad Currie, Chris Greaves, Oli Hairs, Jack Jarvis, Michael Jones, Michael Leask, Brandon McMullen, George Munsey, Safyaan Sharif, Chris Sole, Charlie Tear, Mark Watt, Brad Wheal.
