The Indian Women's cricket team is going face to face against the series leader, the Australian Women's cricket team on January 2 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
The first match was dominated by the Australian team but the Indian team gave a cut-throat competition as they lost the match by just (3) runs. Now, in this India Women vs. Australia Women, 3rd ODI, Australia showed a strong performance and won the match by 190 runs. The Aussies have already claimed the winning title for the series, let’s see who is going to win the last match.
Renowned as a batting pitch, the Wankhede Stadium seems promising for the batters. The boundaries are small and the stadium is known for its high-score matches. The same, we saw in the past two matches, wherein the target score went up to (250) runs. Considering the dew, bowling first seems like a better option.
Both the squads have a strong batting line-up with Australia having a total of (3) batters, and (3) batting allrounders, whereas the Indian team has (4) batters, and (4) batting allrounders. The chances of India gaining the victory are higher, considering the nature and the batting line-up of the team.
The Wankhede Stadium is not beneficial just for the batters, the pitch is going to assist spinners as well. The Aussies have (3) spin bowlers in their squad - Georgia Wareham, Alana King, and Jess Jonassen. Considering the performances in the last two matches by the AUS bowlers, Georgia and Alana can work their magic at Wankhede.
Talking about the Indian bowlers, the team has (4) spin bowlers in the squad. The performance of the spinners wasn’t satisfactory. Still, we can expect consistent performance from Sneh Rana, and Deepti Sharma (being the batting allrounder).
Since, the boundaries of the Wankhede Stadium, slow deliveries can lead to a rise in the scores. Fast bowlers can save the day, and Australia's Annabel Sutherland can demolish the batting order. When it comes to Indian pacers, Renuka Singh is expected to stop the runs (considering her lower economy rate). Pooja Vastrakar is one promising bowler in line after Renuka.
