Nepal has announced their squad for the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024. All-rounder Rohit Paudel is the captain of the 15-player squad. Check out the updates.
Nepal’s 15-player squad is ready for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024. Rohit Paudel, the all-rounder is the squad’s captain for the tournament in the USA and West Indies, starting on June 1st.
Rohit scored one century and a half-century in the unofficial T20Is against West Indies A. Nepal hosted the series.
Paudel smashed one century and a fifty in the ongoing unofficial T20Is against West Indies A where hosts Nepal are trailing 1-2 in the five-match series.
In the upcoming T20 World Cup, Nepal is placed in Group D with South Africa, Netherlands, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. Nepal will first appear in the Netherlands vs. Nepal, 7th match on June 4th.
Here’s the complete Nepal squad for T20 World Cup - Rohit Paudel (C), Dipendra Singh Airee, Aasif Sheikh, Anil Kumar Sah, Kushal Malla, Lalit Rajbanshi, Karan KC, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Pratis GC, Sundeep Jora, Abinash Bohara, Sagar Dhakal, Kamal Singh Airee.
Gulshan Jha joins a group of young players who have already played in the U19 World Cup earlier this year. Pratis GC, who is 19 years old, also keeps his spot on the adult team.
The only player from Nepal's first tournament, which was in 2014, who is in the 2024 team is fast bowling all-rounder Sompal Kami. Cult hero Karan KC is the oldest player in the group.
The main spin danger for Nepal will be Lalit Rajbanshi, an orthodox left-arm spinner.
Note – All the teams can make changes to the squad until 25th May. Any changes after this will need ICC’s Event Technical Committee.
