Only five batters in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have scored 4000 runs as an opener. KL Rahul became the sixth. That happened in LSG's game against RR on April 27 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, and Chris Gayle are the other hitters in the IPL to have reached this number.
Shikhar Dhawan is the best starter in the IPL based on runs scored. As an opener in the IPL, Dhawan has scored the most runs 6,362 in 202 games. David Warner is next with 5,909 runs in 162 innings. In 122 games, Chris Gayle has scored 4,480 runs. Kohli has scored 4,041 runs in 107 innings, and Rahul has scored 4,041 runs in 94 innings.
KL Rahul played a great bit of cricket and hit fifty in the game against the Rajasthan Royals. With eight fours and two sixes, the stylish right-handed batter got 76 runs off of 48 balls.
