Earlier today, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 16-man roster, which will travel to India to participate in two ICC World Test Championship matches in Chennai and Kanpur.
Bangladesh is sticking with the winning formula, bringing back nearly the same squad that etched their names in history with a 2-0 series sweep over Pakistan in Rawalpindi. The only change comes with the unfortunate exit of left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam, who is sidelined with a groin injury. Stepping in is wicket-keeper batsman Jaker Ali Anik, the lone uncapped player in the squad. Anik has been turning heads in first-class cricket since his debut in 2016, averaging an impressive 41.47 and recently smashing a personal best of 172 in the A Team series against Pakistan.
The action kicks off with the first Test in Chennai on September 19th, followed by the second Test in Kanpur starting September 27th. But the excitement doesn’t stop there—India and Bangladesh will then battle it out in a three-match T20 series, taking the game to Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad. After facing Bangladesh, India’s busy schedule continues with three home Tests against New Zealand before they pack their bags for a thrilling five-match Test series in Australia.
