The 2024 NBA winner Jayson Tatum has called the shots on the 2025 NBA Finals. The superstar has predicted that the Boston Celtics will face the Dallas Mavericks again in the 2025 NBA Finals.
Jayson Tatum has enjoyed an incredible 2024. Not only did the 26-year-old lead the Boston Celtics to an NBA championship, but he also added Olympic gold to his resume after Team USA secured their fifth consecutive title in a thrilling final against France. Topping that in 2025 won’t be easy, but during a recent appearance on The Jimmy Fallon Show, Tatum predicted another deep playoff run.
When Fallon quizzed who he sees making the 2025 NBA Finals, Tatum confidently responded, "It's gonna be a rematch. We're gonna play Dallas again." Celtics fans will be hoping his prediction comes true, as Boston comfortably outclassed a Mavericks team featuring Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving in just five games during the 2024 Finals. Tatum himself was outstanding, averaging 22.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per game in the series.
Beyond his on-court success, Tatum is also achieving a childhood dream by becoming the cover star for popular basketball simulation game NBA 2K25. In his interview with Fallon, he reflected on the honor, saying, "That might be the coolest thing. Just as a kid, every kid grew up playing NBA 2K. First, you dream about being in the game, and that happens in your rookie year. Then, the top of the mountain is being on the cover. Just seeing it now is a surreal feeling. It's incredible."
After a stellar 2024, both on and off the court, Jayson Tatum will be aiming to start the new NBA season, which begins in late-October, on the front-foot. And after locking down a bumper five-year contract extension worth 314-million dollars, the 26-year-old will be highly motivated to retain his NBA crown.
