United States Squad for ICC Men’s T20I World Cup

The host for the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024, the United States has announced their squad for the tournament. The country has been one of the most influential ones in every walk of life and now they are increasing their presence in the sport by hosting the much-awaited tournament. 

Along with the United States, West Indies is co-hosting the T20 World Cup. As the championship is around the corner, participating countries are announcing their squads.

Talking about the United States squad for the T20 World Cup, Monank Patel is leading the team. Monank Dilipbhai Patel Right Hand Wicketkeeper Batter, the present squad captain has also played for MI Emirates, Gujarat Under-16s, Gujarat Under-19s, MI New York and Samp Army.

Till now, Monank has played 23 T20I matches and scored 387 runs with a 21.50 average rate. Monank played his first T20I match against the U.A.E. in the United States of America tour of the United Arab Emirates 2019.

The squad includes the former Black Caps player, Corey James Anderson who is known for his striking style. His record for setting the world record for the fastest ODI century in 36 deliveries against West Indies, justifies his hard-hitting batting persona.

Between the period of 2012 to 2024, Corey has played 33 T20I matches (31 for New Zealand and 2 for the US) and scored 568 runs with an average rate of 25.81. Corey’s highest score in a T20I match is 94*.

Rest, there are no major changes. The squad is a mix of old and new faces.

The United States will first appear in the United States of America vs Canada, 1st match on June 2nd.
