Trent Bridge Stadium’s Pavilion End to be Named After Stuart Broad

Ahead of the second Test between England and West Indies, the authorities at the Trent Bridge Stadium decided to name the pavilion's end after Stuart Broad.

Stuart Broad is one of the established English bowlers who has represented Nottinghamshire from this career’s start! Eventually, this is an emotional and heartwarming moment for Stuart.

A Glance at Stuart Broad's Career

Staurt’s career started in 2006 and went to 2023, with 344 matches and 485 innings in account. During his career, Stuart bowled 6830 overs and took 847 wickets at the average and economy rate of 27.83 and 3.45 respectively.

Stuart is the 7th highest wicket-taking bowler in international cricket history and England’s second-highest wicket-taker after James Anderson, who took 991. James has recently retired from the sport.

Dominance in International Test

Stuart Broad has 604 International Test wickets with a 27.68 average rate. Stuart is currently the 5th highest wicket-taker in Tests and England’s 2nd highest wicket-taker after James Anderson with 704 wickets.

James Anderson has also scored 3,662 runs with an 18.03 average rate including international centuries and half-centuries in the format. Stuart scored the best of 169 runs in an innings.

“If you are joining us for day one of the contest, please be in your seats by 10.40 am as we officially rename the Pavilion End of our venue in honour of Nottinghamshire’s most successful bowler on the international stage.”

A Moment to Cherish

Stuart Broad will attend the ceremony along with his father. The Stadium will unveil the tributing change before the match to honour the legendary pacer’s career.

England will present their playing XI for the second Test against West Indies. Though there are no major changes in the playing squad, but Mark Wood replaced James Anderson who decided to retire from international cricket after winning the first test at Lord’s.
