The Super 8 of the T20I World Cup 2024

Out of 20 qualifying teams in the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024, several have made their mark and entered the Super 8 of the 2024.

The initial stage of the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024 is now over, and Super 8 of the T20I World Cup is final. Two teams from each group have qualified for the further stages.

Here are the final teams that in the Super 8 stage-

Group A – India and the United States of America

Group B – Australia and England

Group C – Afghanistan and West Indies

Group D – South Africa and Bangladesh or Netherlands

One team that stood out as a surprising element is the United States which defeated the ICC No.7 T20I Team, Pakistan. It is the United States’ first International T20 tournament and they have defeated an established team to enter the Super 8 of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Pakistan had to accept a bad fate. The last contest between USA and Ireland got abandoned due to rain which was the deciding factor for Pakistan’s qualification into the Super 8.

Even after winning the latest contest against Ireland, Pakistan had to depart from the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup. Their journey is now over!

Apart from Pakistan, this year’s T20I World Cup was a disaster for the Blackcaps. New Zealand was placed in the Group C along with West Indies, Afghanistan, Uganda, and Papua New Guinea.

India, Australia, Afghanistan, the West Indies, and South Africa are the only teams to have reached the Super 8 undefeated. The USA and England, on the other hand, advanced despite losing to India and Australia in the group stage.

India, Australia, Afghanistan, and either Bangladesh or the Netherlands will compete in Group 1, while the West Indies, South Africa, England, and the United States have been placed in Group 2.
