Most Player of the Match Awards by an Indian in IPL History

Rohit Sharma, the Hitman has bagged the record for the most Player of the Match awards by an Indian in the IPL history.

The current Indian cricket team captain and MI’s opener, Rohit Sharma, has the record for the most Player of the Match (PoTM) awards in IPL history.

Rohit Sharma has 19 PoTM awards among all other Indian players like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Rohit Sharma is the opening batsman for the Mumbai Indians and former captain. Though MI was eliminated from the league, Rohit Sharma made his mark.

Rohit Sharma’s IPL Career

Rohit has been playing IPL since 2008. During this period, he played 255 matches for two different teams – Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians and scored a total of 6541 runs. Rohit has earned 19 PoTM awards till now.

Apart from being a great opening batsman, Rohit Sharma is a successful captain as well. In his career, Rohit Sharma has won 5 IPL titles as Mumbai Indians’ captain.
