RCB Had Won The Match, Almost

It was a close-call. RCB was about to win the match. Karan Sharma took the charge and had built the bridges of hope for the team. But a caught and bowled destroyed the hope.

It was a nail-biting moment when RCB needed (3 runs off 1 ball). Ferguson was on strike, he hit a drive, bowling was reaching the fielder, batters ran for their life, completed one run, fielder threw the ball at wicket-keeper’s end, bails were down, the third was to decide the fate.

What turned out was not in RCB’s favor, the batter couldn’t reach the crease and RCB lost the match by (1) run.

Great performances by both the teams but the fate was in KKR’s favor.

Well this is not the first time that RCB’s fate ditched them. Let’s roll back to the memory lane and check out the other matches where something similar happened.

RCB vs KKR 2014

Venue was Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah. Upon batting first, KKR scored (150) runs. Varun Aaron from RCB took (3) wickets off (16) runs. RCB had to chase the target of (151) runs, whether KKR bowled or RCB performed poorly, no idea but RCB lost the match by (2) runs.

RCB vs KKR 2008

2014 was not the first time when RCB confronted KKR and lost with close margins. In the first season of the IPL, in 2008, at Eden Gardens, RCB lost the match by (5) runs. Batting first, KKR scored only (129) and RCB had to chase the target of (130) runs only but they couldn’t.

What’s Next for RCB?

The team’s future for the current season is in danger. Though, RCB has not been officially out of the league as they are yet to play 6 matches. RCB can enter the Playoffs only if they win all 6 matches but that’s highly unlikely.
