Will India Make Any Changes in the Playing XI for the Final?

Looks like Shivam Dube can be replaced by either Yashasvi Jaiswal or Sanju Samson for the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024 Final.

India has entered the final of the T20 World Cup for the third time in a row. India defeated England by 68 runs. The country has been waiting for years to win the ICC T20 World Cup after 2011.

At this crucial point, no team will be complacent in implementing the right strategies. Considering the same, the India Playing XI might undergo some changes.

For the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Final, India could let Yashasvi Jaiswal or Sanju Samson in Shivam Dube’s place. The 2024 T20 World Cup has been unsatisfactory for Shivam Dube. The seam bowler hasn’t bowled a single match for the team and has been struggling to add runs to the scoreboard.

In the India England Semi Final match, Shivam got dismissed at a golden duck after coming out to bat at the 7th spot for India. Usually, Shivam bats at the 5th spot.

Undoubtedly, this is a crucial moment and the right opportunity for Men in Blue to relive the moments of 2007 and 2011. With attention to the right strategy, the authorities will call out Yashasvi or Sanju.

Having the right playing XI is crucial as Proteas have been indispensable in the tournament. Both India and South Africa went head-to-head in 6 ICC T20 World Cup matches and India has won 4 of them.

If Yashasvi gets to play, then there will be changes in the opening duo. Yashasvi and Rohit Sharma would open the innings. With this change, Virat Kohli would be placed back in his former position, one man down. It is the same spot where Kohli strikes his magic!

The 2024 T20 World Cup has been quite well for King Kohli, he has scored just 75 runs in 7 matches. Coming back to the former position might bring his original performance back.

Sanju Samson is another option for Shivam’s replacement who is ideal to bat in the middle order and score runs at a fast pace. Sanju Samson was a hotshot in the Indian Premier League 2024 while leading Rajasthan Royals. His brilliant form in IPL was the reason why he got preference over KL Rahul in the India squad for the T20 World Cup.

Whereas, Ravindra Jadeja is struggling with his bowling as he managed to take only one wicket in the tournament so far. But he is likely to be a part of the playing XIs along with Kuldeep and Axar.

Here’s the potential playing XI for the T20 World Cup 2024 Final-

Rohit Sharma (c), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah
