Liverpool Draw Spurs, Arsenal To Face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup Semi-Finals

After four thrilling quarterfinals, the lineup for the Carabao Cup semifinals is finally set in stone. And oh boy, do we have some exciting games to look forward to in the Carabao Cup semifinals.

After a jaw-dropping 4-3 triumph over Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur are gearing up for a blockbuster Carabao Cup semifinal against defending champions Liverpool. The Reds punched their ticket with a composed 2-1 victory over Southampton, reaffirming their dominance in this competition as the all-time leaders with a record 10 titles. The drama kicks off at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first leg, with the return leg set to unfold at the fortress of Anfield.

On the other side of the draw, Arsenal and Newcastle United are set for an electrifying clash. The Gunners edged past Crystal Palace in a thrilling 3-2 showdown at the Emirates, while the Magpies powered through Brentford with a confident 3-1 win at St. James’ Park. Arsenal will host the first leg at home before heading to a fiery Tyneside for the second.

But here’s where it gets even more exciting—Spurs and Arsenal are on a collision course to potentially meet in the Carabao Cup final. Imagine a North London Derby under the Wembley lights, with silverware on the line! As the semifinals loom, the stakes couldn’t be higher, and the prospect of an unforgettable showdown has fans buzzing. The stage is set for a dramatic chapter in this year’s competition—don’t blink, or you might miss history being made.

Spurs and Arsenal have yet to clash in a major domestic final, but they’ve locked horns four times before in League Cup semi-finals – in 1968, 1987, 2007, and 2008. The upcoming semi-final ties promise to bring more drama, with the first legs scheduled for the week starting January 6, 2025, and the decisive second legs in the week beginning February 3. All roads lead to Wembley for the grand finale on 16th March.
