Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe has been sidelined for approximately three weeks after the Frenchman suffered a thigh injury during Real’s win over Alaves yesterday.
Mbappe was substituted in the final moments of Los Blancos’ 3-2 win over Alaves on Tuesday night. Madrid fans were left concerned by Mbappe’s early exit, but Carlo Ancelotti downplayed the situation. In a post-match interview, the Madrid coach said, “He’s fine. He was a little tense and asked me to change to avoid problems.” However, to the horror of Real Madrid fans, recent reports have suggested that the 25-year-old Frenchman will miss at least three weeks of action. After undergoing further tests at the club's training ground in Valdebebas earlier today, it was revealed that Mbappe has injured his Femoral Biceps in his left leg.
Kylian Mbappé’s absence is a major blow ahead of Sunday’s Madrid derby against Atlético. But that’s not all—Carlo Ancelotti will also have to navigate crucial fixtures without his French talisman, including a Champions League showdown with Lille and a La Liga battle against Villarreal. On the international stage, Mbappé will miss France’s Nations League clashes with Belgium and Israel during October’s international break. However, there’s a glimmer of hope for fans, as he’s expected to make his comeback in Real Madrid’s post-break La Liga fixture against Celta Vigo.
This injury comes at the worst possible time for Kylian Mbappe. After an underwhelming start to his Real Madrid career, Mbappe gradually started to recover his form. The 25-year-old World Cup winner has scored five goals in his last four La Liga games. Moreover, he is Real Madrid’s top goalscoring this season with 7 goals in all competitions. Now, Los Blancos will have to navigate a tricky set of fixtures without their star player. But if there is a club that can deal with Mbappe’s absence, it is Real Madrid. Even with Mbappé sidelined, the firepower in Los Blancos' ranks is undeniable. Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo are more than capable of stepping up, while young prodigies like Arda Güler and Endrick are itching for their moment to shine. Though Madrid have the depth to manage without Mbappé, his absence will undoubtedly be felt.
