Dele Alli Offered Fresh Start by Arsenal Legend Cesc Fabregas, Set to Train with Serie A’s Como 1907

Dele Alli’s career serves as a cautionary tale for budding footballers. Cesc Fabregas, who’s currently the coach of Serie A club Como 1907, has stated that Dele Alli will now train with his squad from January. The 28-year-old midfielder has been without a club since his contract with Everton expired in June. The news of Dele joining Como started to gain traction after he was spotted in the stands, watching Como’s 2-0 win over AS Roma. Following the match, when a reporter quizzed Fabregas about a potential move for Alli, the Spainard said, “I got to know him yesterday. I don’t want to talk much about this, but perhaps there’s a chance that he will start training with us after Christmas. Let’s see. It would be to help him get in shape and nothing more. For now, we must enjoy this night. We must talk about Como, Gabrielloni and the lads. This is the most important thing.” 

Currently, Dele Alli is training with Everton in order to recover from persistent injuries and regain match fitness. But with no contract offers from Everton or any other Premier League club, the once-promising star is now exploring new opportunities. For fans hoping to see him back on the pitch, patience will be key—his last competitive appearance was in February 2023 during a loan spell with Besiktas. Still, there’s no denying Alli’s pedigree. During his time at Spurs, he was a standout in Mauricio Pochettino’s thrilling side that challenged for Premier League titles in 2015-16 and 2016-17 and made it all the way to the Champions League final in 2019.
