Day 1: First Session

Yashasvi Jaiswal and Kl Rahul started the second innings for India in 2nd test match and Mitchel Starc start the Australian bowling attack. Still, in the previous match, Centurian Yashasvi Jaiswal was out on the first ball of the match by Mitchel Starc's outstanding delivery. It's a big bow for India and a bad start for India. Till lunchon the first day, team India was seen struggling and before lunch India's score became 4 for 81. Subhaman Gill was bowled off Boland's ball on 31 scores.

After lunch everyone's eyes were now on captain Rohit, but Boland dashed India's hopes by getting Rohit out LBW and India's score became 5 for 87, Rohit Sharma was out after scoring 3 runs in 23 balls. After captain Rohit Sharma was out, Pant and Reddy tried to handle the innings but soon Australian captain Pat Cummins further increased India's problems by getting Pant out. Before Pant was out, he tried to handle the innings by scoring 21 runs in 35 balls but failed.

After this Ashwin and Readdy tried to handle the Indian innings and Ashwin showed some active attitude but soon he was dismissed by Starc on a score of 22. After this wicket kept falling one by one and the other side Nitish Reddy took good care of the Australian bowlers. Nitish Reddy became the victim of Starc as the last wicket of the Indian innings of 42 runs in just 54 balls and thus the Indian innings was restricted to 180. Nitish Reddy was the highest scorer from India's side. While from Australia's side, Starc made a lethal bowling and took 6 wickets, while Boland and Cummins got 2 wickets each.

Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja came to start the innings from Australia's side, both batters were seen struggling but the poor fielding of the Indians gave the Australian opener the life of a score of 0 when Jaspreet's ball was going into the hands of Rohit Sharma standing in the 1st sleep while holding the edge of Nathan McSweeney's but in the middle Pant tried to catch and the ball got caught by his fingers and Nathan McSweeney got the chance to take his ball forward. However, this partnership did not last long and on a score of 24, Bumrah gave a big blow to Australia and Usman Khawaja became the victim of birthday boy Bumrah on a personal score of 13 and with this he became the first bowler to take 50 wickets in the calendar year 2024. After this, Marnus Labuschagne, who came to bat, along with Nathan McSweeney, played with great enthusiasm and brought Australia to a strong position. Before the end of the day's play, Australia had scored 86 runs at the loss of 1 wicket. Nathan McSweeney is on 38 and Marnus Labuschagne is not out after scoring 20 runs.

Day 2:

 On the Second day, Australia's not-out batters Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne tried to take the Australian innings forward. Still, Nathan McSweeney could not take her innings much forward, and soon Bumrah got Nathan McSweeney out, keeping India's hopes alive. After this, Smith also came to bat but could not do much and became the victim of Bumrah; Smith could score just two runs. After this, Travis Head, who came to bat, joined Marnus Labuschagne and handled the Australian innings. In the meantime, Marnus Labuschagne scored a wonderful fifty and put Australia in a very good situation. Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne took good news of the Indian bowlers. By the time Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed by NK Reddy with a score of 64, Australia had already reached a strong position. After this, Marsh, who came to bat, joined hands with Head and stopped the innings and gave a big lead to Australia but Marsh too could not last for long and scored nine runs to take the wicket Ashwin. Before the end of the second day's play, India's score reached 128. However, India is still 29 runs behind Australia after the first innings. Day 3:

On the third day, before the start of the game, everyone's eyes were on the not-out batter Pant and Reddy, but as soon as the match started, Pant became the victim of Starc on a score of 28 without adding any run. After that, Ashwin, who came to bat, could not do anything special and became the victim of Pat Commins with a personal score of 7 runs. Harshit Rana could not even open his account, and he, too, became the victim of Cummins. From the other end, Reddy was trying to take India to a respectable score by scoring runs continuously. Still, on a personal score of 42, while trying to uppercut  Cummins, he got caught by McSweeney, and with this wicket, Indian hopes suffered a big blow. With the wicket of Reddy, captain Cummins opened his fifer. By dismissing Siraj from Boland, he ended the Indian innings at 175 runs. And Australia need the target of 19 runs. In reply, the Australian team came into bat and scored 19 runs without losing any wickets and won by ten wickets and with this, the series was level at 1-1.
