Rashid Khan - Out of the Afghanistan Tour of India 2024

Rashid Khan is not a part of the AFG Playing XI for the Afghanistan Tour of India 2024. Let’s dive deeper into the concern.

You won’t see Rashid Khan in the Afghanistan’s playing XI for the Afghanistan Tour of India 2024. Rashid Khan’s absenteeism would affect Afghanistan’s performance as the team is confronting India at the IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.

What’s the Reason?

Rashid Khan has been recovering after undergoing a lower back injury. Though Rashid has traveled with the team for moral support, he won’t be playing a single match, as confirmed by Ibrahim Zadran.

"He is not totally fit, but is travelling with the team," Ibrahim said. "We hope that he gets fit as soon as we expect him to. He's doing his rehab with the doctor, and we will miss him in the series.

"Without Rashid, we will struggle but not that much because his experience is very important for all of us, but this is cricket and you should be ready for any kind of situation."

Afghanistan’s Action Plan

Rashid’s recovery led him to move out of the Big Bash League as well as the SA20 as well. Rashid is an important bowler. The team is going to lose out on great bowling, as the leg-spinner recovers from the surgery.

The responsibility for a good spin spell lies on the shoulders of Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Mohammad Nabi, Noor Ahmad, Qais Ahmad, and Sharafuddin Ashraf.
