Along with Mumbai Indians Women, our analysts at ScoreWaves are doing a pretty good job. The prediction stated the higher chances of MI W winning the match. It did happen. MI W won the match by (42) runs.

Wise Decision, Favorable Pitch

Captain Harmanpreet had already registered the victory when she decided to bat first after winning the toss. The captain played wisely, she totally encashed the opportunity to score higher and take wickets.

The pitch at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi favors the team batting first. The pitch is known to provide more runs in the first innings. The last three matches of the WPL 2024, support this statement.

The winners of the last three matches played the first innings. Chasing at Arun Jaitley Stadium is not an ideal scenario for the team.

MI W’s Middle Batting Order Saved the Day

The opening was bad for the team. If the middle order had collapsed like the openers, then UP Warriorz W would surely have won the match.

Nat, Harmanpreet, and Amelia must be credited for a much-needed performance. Three of them took charge, protected the wickets, and scored runs.

  • Nat Sciver-Brunt - scored (45 off 31), smashed (8) (4s), strike rate - 145.16
  • Harmanpreet Kaur - scored (33 off 31), hit (3) (4s), (1) (6s), strike rate - 110.00
  • Amelia Kerr - scored (39 off 23), added (6) (4s), strike rate - 169.57

With the efforts of these batswomen, the team was able to add (160) runs to the scoreboard.

Great Bowling by Chamari

UPW W’s Chamari Athapaththu was the reason why MI W’s openers failed badly. Chamari sent the openers, Yastika and Hayley, back to the pavilion before the initial five overs of the game.

Chamari delivered a total (4) overs, gave away (27) runs, and took (2) wickets with an economy of (6.80).

Except Deepti, No One Pushed the Score

In the second innings, UP Warriorz W’s batting went worse than the Mumbai's. Top, middle, and bottom, none of the batting order worked. Only Deepti Sharma scored satisfactory runs, (53 off 36) balls.

The entire team could score only (118) runs at the loss of (9) wickets. In the end, MI W won the match by (42) runs.
