India Secures Win in IND vs AFG 1st T20I Match - Afghanistan Tour of India 2024
India won the first match of the three T20I Series against Afghanistan. The team won by (6) wickets, leading the points table now!
India secured a comfortable win against Afghanistan in the first T20I match of the Afghanistan Tour of India. The team won the toss and decided to field first. The AFG’s batting openers performed quite recently though we were expecting some good scores from the team they managed to score (158) runs, with a fall of (5) wickets.
The targeted score was easy to target since the dew was spreading over the pitch. Considering the same, the chasing team had an advantage and the same happened. In the first over of India's innings, Rohit Sharma got run out, where things started to tremble. Soon, Shubhman Gill’s wicket fell. Now the middle order had to sail the boat towards the victory end.
India chased the target quite easily, finishing the game in the (17.3) over.
Dube was Deadly
Dube’s world-class batting helped the team to chase the target easily. Dube scored (60) runs (40) balls, hit (5) (4s), (2) (6s), with a strike rate of (150). Dube and Jitesh kept the scores added to the scoreboard till the target was reached.
We are Yet to Witness Kohli’s Action!
Virat Kohli was unavailable for this match due to personal reasons but the batter is available for selection in the (2nd) and (3rd) matches. Though India managed to win the game, the cricket enthusiasts missed Kohli's action.
India with a lead on the points table is now ready to confront Afghanistan in the 2nd T20I match in the Afghanistan Tour of India 2024.
