Thrilling Win for the Young Boys in Blue
Uday’s boys have done it. The India U-19 team has officially entered the finals of the ICC Under-19 World Cup.
The Hindi word, or name, ‘Uday,’ means sunrise, and yesterday was the brightest sunrise for the Indian Under-19 team. In the exciting ODI contest, IND U-19 defeated SA-19 in the first Semi-Final match of the ICC U-19 World Cup.
With this win, India U-19 has entered the final of the Under-19 World Cup.
On 8th February, in the Semi-Final 2 Australia U-19 and Pakistan U-19 are locking horns to secure a place in the finals. The winner will be playing against India U-19 in the finals. Millions of Indians will be hoping for Pakistan’s win, because they want to witness a thrilling match between IND U-19 and PAK U-19, for obvious reasons!
Anyways! Coming back to the point. Uday’s squad has won the first Semi-Final against South Africa by (2) wickets.
Player of the Match - Uday Saharan
The Captain, the maverick, Uday Saharan was the player of the match. The batter scored (81) runs in (124) balls, with an impressive strike rate of (65.32). What a great performer by this young batter. When the top batting order failed, the consistent performance by Uday resulted in the team’s win.
Great Partnership - Between Uday & Sachin
It was only Uday’s efforts that brought victory. The large credit also goes to Uday Saharan and Sachin Dhas’s partnership of over (140) runs. Sachin Das scored an impressive knockout of (96) runs, in (95) balls with a strike rate of (101.05).
What’s Next for the Indian Team?
With this win, India U-19 has entered the finals of the ICC Under-19 World Cup. It is still awaited who is going to contest against the Indian team, will that be Australia or Pakistan?
Past Performances of AUS and PAK
Firstly, talking about the Australian team, they have been on the top of the Super Six, Group 2 standings. The team has played four matches in the cup, won three, and lost none, but one match resulted in no result.
Whereas the Pakistan team is stronger in the tournament. There aren’t any major differences in the performances of India and Pakistan. PAK has played four matches till now, and won all of them, just like IND. Pakistan is expected to give tough competition to the India Team.
