India Bagged The Series In IND vs RSA 3rd ODI

In a thrilling encounter between two cricketing giants, India clashed with South Africa in a 3rd One Day International (ODI) match that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

India beats South Africa by 78 runs in 3rd ODI, wins series by 2-1

In a thrilling encounter between two cricketing giants, India clashed with South Africa in a 3rd One Day International (ODI) match that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The contest was filled with spectacular performances, breathtaking moments, and a seesaw battle that showcased the prowess of both teams.

India came out glorious in the third and last match of the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa. India won the match by (78) runs on Thursday, 21 December.

South Africa captain Aiden Markram won the toss and decided to bowl at Boland Park in Paarl. India scored (296) runs for eight wickets in 50 overs. In reply, South Africa was all out for (218) runs in 45.5 overs.

Batting Performance

Sanju Samson’s bat did wonders for the Indian team, the player scored massive (108) runs with an impressive strike rate of (94.74). Samson scored the first century of his ODI career. Tilak Varma scored (52) runs for India and scored the first half-century.

We witnessed a great partnership between Samson and Tilak Verma of (116) runs in (136) balls.

Rinku Singh scored (38) runs on 27 balls, Rajat Patidar, who played his first ODI, scored (22) runs on 16 balls and captain KL Rahul scored (21) runs on 35 balls.

South Africa was going along nicely, Tony de Zorzi made much-needed (81) runs. Aiden Markram's wicket proved to be just the opening India needed as they kept chipping away at the wickets at regular intervals. None of the Protean batters were able to hold fort and build a partnership and once Miller departed in the 38th over, it was only a matter of time before India won.

Bowling Performance

Player of the Series, left-arm fast-medium bowler, young Arshdeep Singh took (4) wickets for India. He took a total of 9 wickets in the series. Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar each got (2) wickets successes. Mukesh Kumar and Axar Patel took (1) wicket each. Beuran Hendricks and Nandre Burger managed to take (3) and (2) wickets respectively. Whereas, Lizaad Williams, Wiaan Mulder, and Keshav Maharaj, got (1) wicket each. The combined effort couldn’t secure a win for the South African team.
