Considering the pitch scenario, the Gujarat Giants W decided to choose the bat first after winning the toss. But it resulted in the opposite results.
In the first innings, Gujarat Giants W’s innings started badly, openers failed. Wolvaardt and Mooney scored (7) and (0) runs respectively. Adequate runs were delivered by the middle-order batters. Bharati and Bryce scored (42) and (28) runs respectively.
Gujarat Giants W were able to score (126) runs in complete innings. Delhi Capitals W’s bowling was exceptionally good. Marizanne, Shikha, Minnu, and Jonassen took (2), (2), (2), and (1) wickets respectively.
It was an easy win for the Capitals. Shafali scored an impressive (71) runs and Jeremiah played an integral role by scoring (38) runs. The team finished the game in the (13.1) overs at the loss of (3) wickets.

End of Beth’s Captaincy?
After losing badly by seven wickets to the winners, Delhi Capitals, the Gujarat Giants' WPL 2024 season was over. Their leader, Beth Mooney, hinted that she might not be captain again in the next tournament.
Soon after, head coach Michael Klinger pushed for the exact opposite. He wanted security instead of big changes for the third season so that the team wouldn't have to start over again.
Kilnger said-
"I certainly don't want to see there being a huge turnover like there was last year because we need some stability and some continuity as well."
