Bumrah’s Important Statement at the Felicitation Ceremony

Jasprit gave a big statement on his retirement from T20I cricket. He has no intentions of bidding adieu to the shortest cricket format.

Rumours were spreading around about Jasprit Bumrah’s retirement after Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja announced their retirement from the T20I cricket after winning the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2024.

But Jasprit Bumrah has indicated that he will be playing T20I matches for India in the contests to come.

Denying the rumours, Jasprit Bumrah is not retiring from International T20 cricket. The pacer has made it clear that he has no intentions of retiring from the T20 format, or any other format for now!

Playing a crucial role in India’s success at the T20 World Cup 2024, Jasprit Bumrah has a long way to retire from T20I.

Here’s what Jasprit said at the felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium after the open-bus parade-

“It’s a long way away. I have just started. Hopefully, it is far away now,”

“It was unreal. Usually, I am not the one who is at a loss of words, but seeing my son, the emotions that came in. I never cry after a game, but I started crying, and I cried two, three times,”

There is no doubt that Bumrah’s bowling was one of the strongest points of India squad for T20 World Cup. The skill helped the team to put an end to the wait of 13 years, defeating South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final and bringing the trophy home.

Leaving no chances for the opponent team to score runs, Bumrah bowled with a consistent economy rate of 4.17 throughout the tournament, making him the Player of the Tournament.
